OTHER UTILIZED STOCKS

LUMPFISH
Cyclopterus lumpus

There are well over sixty marine stocks of commercial importance in Iceland but, of course, a much greater number contributes to the marine biodiversity. Despite the northerly latitude, the ocean is teeming with life.

The following is a list of stocks that are not described separately. Some of them have a set TAC and most are assessed annually by the Marine Research Institute. Some of them have been harvested for decades in a traditional manner and with little variation in catch, others have just recently been harvested to any extent.
